Wego Drama brings the quirky romantic comedy ‘Almost, Maine’ to the stage

Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School continues their 2025-26 season with a riveting production of John Cariani’s quirky and hilarious “Almost, Maine.”

The play is a romantic comedy about love and loss in the town of Almost, Maine; the show guarantees to warm the heart. It takes place on a Friday night in January; the town of Almost, Maine comes alive through several vignettes. Simply, at 8:50 p.m. on a Friday night, anything can happen — well, almost anything. This evening marks a significant event for the students of Wego Drama as they delve into the mysteries of human life, in line with the season's theme, “Wego Drama: Life is a Mystery.”

Senior Bo Dragosh states, “This show has a lot of very different lives and experiences all going through the same walks of life. The characters are lovably romantic and cheesy.”

Senior Ja’Nyah Villa adds “This show is bound to make audiences burst out in laughter. It is definitely not one to miss.” Junior Tyler Benton says, “This show has always been so inspiring each time I see it. It makes my heart melt, and I’m so glad we get to perform it here at West Chicago.”

Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14-15, at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St. Tickets are a suggested donation of $10.

Additionally, Wego Drama is helping students collect warm clothes for the winter. As the cold months approach coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and more are necessary. Please consider bringing them to the show and putting them in the donation box in the lobby.
