Seigle Foundation hosts ‘Date Night’ matching EALA volunteers with nonprofits

Seigle Foundation recently hosted a “Date Night” to connect Elgin Area Leadership Academy participants with local nonprofits seeking volunteers, offering both groups an opportunity to meet and learn about each other.

A program of the Elgin Chamber of Commerce, EALA is a hands-on course designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to become an effective community leader.

Graduates will inspire, empower, and influence outcomes in the Elgin community through this award-winning leadership development program.

Representing Seigle Foundation were almost 40 local grantees eager to meet candidates who could potentially become committee members or serve on their board. The participants were assembled in small groups and every few minutes would rotate in order for everyone to get to know one another.

Another goal of the event was for the agencies to get together in order to strengthen ties between organizations and build camaraderie among the nonprofit sector, a vibrant and vital segment of the Elgin community.

That evening, state Rep. Anna Moeller presented Mark and Robin Seigle an Illinois House of Representative proclamation recognizing their charitable and volunteer work in the community.

Seigle Foundation supports the arts, education, food and housing in Elgin and Dundee. For more information see SeigleFoundation.org.
