Some Lakefront suburbs receive more than 10 inches of snow from overnight storm

Residents in many suburbs nearest the lakefront woke up to 10 inches of snow or more.

More snow was also expected to fall through noon in some parts of the suburbs, with up to an inch more expected in parts of Lake, Cook and Will counties.

Officially at O’Hare International Airport, 1.7 inches of snow had fallen, according to early reports.

Some roads remain snow covered and slippery, meteorologists warn.

Temperatures will remain in the 30s throughout the day, with highs inching upward throughout the week and back into the lower 60s by Friday, according to forecasts.
