Let’s be done with all this
An open letter to my family, friends and neighbors who are Both Democrats and Republicans — and to Congress and the Supreme Court:
At 1:05 p.m. on Oct. 23, as I was waiting for my labs to be done at my physician’s office, I opened my phone to a news article showing the ruination of the White House.
I was sickened at the sight of our once pristine White House being destroyed by bulldozers. I was not sickened by the idea of having my blood drawn. I am 82 years old and I am a pro at giving blood to help people I will never meet and to help my doctors provide good care for me. The last time I had this nauseous feeling was on 9/11 when every TV station played and replayed airplanes crashing into the Twin Towers in the New York City financial district.
Let us be done with Donald Trump.
Let us be done with the biases he has against the American people — the poor, the black, the aged.
Let us be done with rewriting American history and restricting the rights of women and transgenders.
Let us be done with saturating our safe neighborhoods with ICE and instilling lifelong fear into the hearts and minds of our children.
Let us be done with a man who is filled with hatred and contempt for the very people he vowed to protect.
Let us invoke the 25th Amendment, remove this tyrant from office and prohibit him from ever holding public office again.
And, most importantly, let us be done with the pretense that this president is rational and fit for office.
