Equal justice

Under U.S. law, no one who is not a citizen is allowed to enter or remain in this country illegally.

“Equal justice under law” means the same immigration and criminal laws apply to everyone.

If illegal immigrants can violate the law without consequence, then Americans could also claim that same right, which would be a direct threat to our democracy and the rule of law.
