Downers Grove police seek help identifying battery suspect
Downers Grove police are seeking the public’s help with identifying the suspect who attacked a woman jogging on a village street Friday afternoon.
About 2:59 p.m., police responded to a report of a 46-year-old woman who was jogging in the 5400 block of Brookbank Road between Maple Avenue and 55th Street and was approached by a man who grabbed her hips.
The woman screamed and the man fled back to a vehicle and left the area, police said.
The offender is described as a Black man in his early to midthirties, about 5 foot 11 inches in height with short black hair. He was wearing a navy blue T-shirt with “SAS” in white letters on both the front and back, black pants, and bright white Nike Air Max shoes, police said.
The man entered a dark gray, four-door sedan with a silver emblem on the back, police said.
Anyone with information about the attacker is urged to contact the Downers Grove Police Department at (630) 434-5600. Residents in the area are asked to check home surveillance video systems for footage of the offender or vehicle.
