Man killed after car hits tree in Aurora

One person was killed and a passenger was seriously injured when a car struck a tree Wednesday night in Aurora.

A Honda Accord was driving west on the 600 block of Spruce around 11:20 p.m., left the road and hit a tree, Aurora police said.

Both people were ejected.

A 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 23-year-old woman was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove in critical condition.

Police said the Kane County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the man killed after the coroner notifies his relatives.
