Man injured in Aurora house fire on Tuesday
A man was treated for burns on his hands and smoke inhalation after a Tuesday night fire left a home uninhabitable in Aurora, authorities said.
The fire was at a single-family home on the 900 block of Fallen Oak Trail, according to an Aurora Fire Department release on Thursday.
Fire crews responded at about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday after Aurora police saw flames visible from a second-story window.
A total of 26 firefighters were able to contain the fire to the second floor and had it under control in about seven minutes, the release said.
Three residents and their dog got out of the house before firefighters arrived, officials said. One resident, a 36-year-old man, went to the hospital for burns on his hands and smoke inhalation, but there were no other injuries. The homeowner requested board-up service, the release said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Aurora Fire Department at (630) 256-4000.
