Hanover Township to distribute Thanksgiving meal boxes

Hanover Township will distribute Thanksgiving meal boxes to families beginning Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hanover Township Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave., Hanover Park.

Registration is required at the community center.

Meal boxes will also be distributed during those same hours on Thursday, Nov. 20, and Friday, Nov. 21, while supplies last. Residents must provide a valid ID or food pantry card. Only one meal box will be distributed per household.

Each meal box contains a 12-14 pound frozen turkey, canned fruits and vegetables, gravy mix, potatoes, stuffing mix, coffee and dessert.

Sponsors include St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Streamwood, Knights of Columbus Mary’s Millennium Council #12801, the Streamwood Woman’s Club and the Kiwanis Club of Streamwood.
