Lake Park High theater to put on ‘Six: The Musical — Teen Edition’
On Oct. 30 and Nov. 1-2, the Lake Park Theatre Department presents “Six: The Musical — Teen Edition,” directed by English teacher Sara Keith.
The musical rewrites 500 years of historical heartbreak through the lens of the “Six Wives of Henry VIII,” presented as a “rock concert” with six powerful, individual women rewriting “her-story” rather than remaining mere footnotes in history.
This show empowers young audiences by focusing on themes of reclaiming their own narratives, finding strength in their shared experiences, and realizing their individual voices are more important than being defined by one man.
The cast features junior Kaylee Kartholl (Catherine of Aragon), junior Alexis Pichay (Anne Boleyn), junior Charlotte Goodin (Anna of Cleves), junior Mackenzie Paulish (Jane Seymour), sophomore Kay Insidioso (Katherine Howard), and junior Tiya Tennetti (Catherine Parr).
Also performing are: Alessandra Banducci, Ricky Gomez, Brianna Johnson, Ly Kaleta, Amy Kramarski, Kylene Murphy, Jeremy Pichay, Alessandra Rozo, and Julia Zielinski.
Tickets can be purchased at the door. Admission is free to seniors and Lake Park students, and $5 for anyone age 13 or older.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Nov. 1, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, in the East Campus Dice Auditorium, 600 S. Medinah Road in Roselle. The show is approximately 75 minutes with no intermission.
