Sleep Out Saturday to benefit Bridge Communities transitional housing
Hundreds of DuPage County residents will trade warm beds for tents, boxes, and cars this Saturday, Nov. 1, as they participate in Sleep Out Saturday, a powerful overnight experience that raises critical funds for Bridge Communities' transitional housing program.
Now in its 22nd year, Sleep Out Saturday brings together families, friends, community groups, and businesses for one cold November night to better understand the challenges of family homelessness while raising money to help transform lives.
The evening begins with an outdoor rally from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Lakeside Pavilion on the College of DuPage campus, a longtime Sleep Out Saturday partner.
Open to participants and the public, the rally will feature live music from School of Rock Glen Ellyn, the inspiring story of a Bridge graduate, games, food, and giveaways before participants settle in for a night under the stars.
Following that, groups will return to their home base to sleep outside in tents, cardboard boxes, and cars.
Every dollar raised supports Bridge Communities' transitional housing program and comprehensive services for more than 100 families experiencing housing insecurity each year. Programs include life-skills mentoring, financial counseling, employment training, tutoring, children's services, family wellness, and more. All designed to help families achieve lasting stability.
