Immanuel Lutheran to host free Veterans Dinner Nov. 9
Immanuel Lutheran in East Dundee is once again thanking our nation’s veterans with the seventh annual Free Dinner for Veterans on Sunday, Nov. 9. As in years past, all local veterans are encouraged to invite their family and friends to enjoy a delicious and complimentary meal.
Both children and adult volunteers from Immanuel Church and School work to put on the dinner. The school children have already been preparing for the event by making cards for the veterans, and both children and adults will be at the event to serve.
“Immanuel Lutheran Church loves to honor heroes! The men and women who served and serve in our Armed Forces are indeed heroes and deserve our utmost respect, thanks and esteem,” said Pastor William Yonker, Senior Pastor. “We are thrilled to offer our gratitude by way of a dinner for our veterans. We aim to honor these valiant women and men in an ongoing fashion.”
The dinner will be hosted at the church, 310 E. Main St. (Route 72 and North Van Buren Street) in East Dundee. This year, unlike last year, the dinner will be served in two shifts: the first from 2 to 4 p.m. and the second from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The meal will be catered by the local East Dundee restaurant, Aliano’s. As usual, Immanuel will have military memorabilia on display for the guests to peruse.
Those interested in attending the event can RSVP by contacting Alison Lyon at (630) 709-6546 or by going through this website: immanuelveteransdinner2025.eventbrite.com.
Guests can sign up to attend either the 2 to 4 p.m. dinner shift, the 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. dinner shift, or they can choose to pick up their meal to-go.
