Mother and son found dead in Palatine suffered apparent gunshot wounds
A mother and son found dead in a Palatine apartment Friday appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds and a firearm was recovered from the scene, authorities revealed Monday.
The victims are 84-year-old Karen Zincke and her son, 57-year-old David Zincke.
Though their deaths remain under investigation by the Palatine Police Department, officials said there is no indication of a threat to the public.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office is awaiting toxicology testing to determine cause and manner of their deaths.
Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Sterling Avenue at about 9:26 p.m. Friday at the request of paramedics and discovered the bodies.
