Two Prospect Heights police officers put on unpaid administrative leave

Two Prospect Heights police officers are on unpaid administrative leave and facing a disciplinary hearing next week to decide their futures with the department.

“Two of our police officers are on unpaid administrative leave following an investigation of off-duty conduct,” said City Administrator Peter Falcone.

Neither Falcone nor Police Chief Milorad Derman would discuss what prompted the suspensions, but the chief said more information would be available following a Tuesday morning hearing by the city’s police and fire commission.

That meeting is slated to begin at 8 a.m. An agenda for that meeting was posted Friday afternoon with the lone item being a closed session of the commission.

There was no mention of any disciplinary issues during the last meeting the commission held Sept. 24.
