Hanover Park police search for suspect after man shot in foot outside apartment complex

A 35-year-old man was shot in the foot outside of a Hanover Park apartment complex Thursday night.

Police officials said the victim was walking through the parking lot of the apartment complex on the 2400 Block of Leslie Lane at about 6:40 p.m. when he was shot.

His wounds were not considered life-threatening.

Police said the assailant was one of several men in a vehicle seen driving through the complex.

Deputy Police Chief Victor DiVito said detectives were working “strong leads” in an attempt to find the shooter. He also said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
