Lake Villa man dies two weeks after motorcycle crash in Grayslake
A 19-year-old man involved in a motorcycle crash in Grayslake on Oct. 9 died Wednesday of his injuries, authorities said.
The Lake County Coroner’s office said Nathan Levandowski of Lake Villa died from blunt-force trauma as a result of the crash on the 2100 block of North Drury Lane.
Authorities responding about 7:05 a.m. to a report of a motorcycle operator down off the roadway found Levandowski with critical injuries. He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he remained until his death.
According to the coroner’s office, a family member found Levandowski a day after a missing-person report had been filed.
Levandowski was driving a Kawasaki 650 sport bike and missed a curve, struck a curb and came to rest about 40 feet east of the road, according to the coroner’s office.
There was no indication any other vehicles were involved and Levandowski was wearing the appropriate safety equipment, authorities said.
Grayslake police and the Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County are investigating.
