Expect road closures during Batavia’s annual Bat Fest Oct. 25

The 2025 Batavia MainStreet Bat Fest will take place on Saturday morning, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

There will be several temporary roadblocks and traffic interruptions throughout the downtown area, including a complete shutdown of West Wilson Street between North Island Avenue and Water Street for approximately 20 minutes during a brief parade.

There will be a full road closure on Houston Street between North Island Avenue and Route 31 for the duration of the event.

The parade will begin at approximately 10 a.m. on North Island Avenue/Houston Street and travel southbound on North Island Avenue. It will turn right and travel westbound on West Wilson Street to Water Street where it will turn right and travel northbound on North Water Street where it will end.

Motorists should use caution and be prepared to encounter increased pedestrian traffic on the following streets during the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Route 31, Houston Street, North Island Avenue, Wilson Street, Water Street, First Street, and Shumway Avenue.

Many intersections will be staffed by volunteers to assist with increased pedestrian traffic. Please adjust your travel plans accordingly on Saturday morning during these times to arrive safely at your destination.
