U.S. shows value of peace through strength

Kudos to Mr. Trump, whose message declared that “a historic dawn of a new Middle East has arrived.” Under his leadership, the United States has worked relentlessly to pursue peace in a region long marked by conflict between Israel and Hamas. While more work remains, the eventual path forward must lead to a two-state solution — one that allows Israelis and Palestinians to coexist peacefully.

As Israelis chanted “Thank you, Trump,” the United States once again demonstrated leadership through strength, echoing its historic role as a stabilizing force in past global conflicts, including the world wars. America continues to stand as a beacon of peace, hope, freedom, prosperity, and opportunity — the land of choice for millions of immigrants around the world.

On another note, Hillary Clinton’s praise for President Trump reflects true graciousness. Her acknowledgment of the 20-point peace plan — supported by assurances from several Arab leaders — further reinforces the significance of this moment.

Let us also hope that common sense and compassion prevail in the ongoing Russia—Ukraine war. It is deeply troubling when some seek to blame Ukrainians for a conflict that was instigated by Vladimir Putin. His excuse that NATO expansion led him to invade Ukraine simply is a lie. He is an aggressor and invader who failed to build a NATO-like coalition with other nations for Russia’s benefit, and instead led Russia into a tragic and unnecessary war, costing over a million Russian lives.

President Putin shows no genuine interest in working with President Trump or others to end his country’s aggression toward Ukraine. One can only hope that morality and conscience will eventually guide him to stop the senseless killing — of both Ukrainians and his own people.
