Annual free health clinic happening this weekend at Judson University in Elgin

The 6th annual Heal Elgin Two-Day Free Health Clinic is happening Saturday and Sunday at the Lindner Fitness Center at Judson University, 1151 N. State St. in Elgin.

The clinic provides dental, vision and medical services for free. No insurance, employment or ID is required. There are also no requirements on residency.

Services available at the Heal Elgin Clinic include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental X-rays, eye exams, glaucoma testing, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made and delivered to patients, women’s health consultations, and general medical and pediatric exams.

Additionally, screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, stroke and colon rectal cancer are available as well as lifestyle counseling, how to increase well-being and longevity, spiritual counseling and prayer, among other services.

Because of time constraints organizers suggest patients be prepared to choose between vision and dental services.

The parking lot opens at 4:30 a.m. and ticket distribution begins at 5 a.m. Doors to the clinic open at 6 a.m.

All guests should enter the Judson University campus by taking River Road toward the Providence College, passing the flag entrance and using the roadway leading past to the Riverside Treatment Plant to the Lindner Fitness Center parking lot.
