New features enhance outdoor experience at Kane County’s Brunner Preserve

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County invites the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of new amenities and site improvements at Brunner Family Forest Preserve in Algonquin.

The event will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16.

Visitors are invited to gather at Buffalo Park Shelter 1 at 19265 Western Ave. Guests should enter through the southern lot of Buffalo Park Forest Preserve. The ceremony will include brief remarks, a ribbon-cutting, and a group photo.

New features include: redesigned sled hill, picnic shelter, double vault restroom, drainage improvements, and ADA-accessible paths and trail connections.

Brunner Family Forest Preserve provides scenic open space, trails, and wildlife habitat. The new amenities offer residents more ways to explore, connect, and enjoy the outdoors.
