Arlington Heights Road to close briefly Tuesday in Elk Grove
A stretch of Arlington Heights Road in Elk Grove Village will be closed temporarily across all lanes Tuesday morning.
The closure, between Higgins Road and Oakton Street, will last from about 9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. to allow a crane truck to erect a steel beam across the road for the Arlington Heights Road Pedestrian Bridge.
Drivers leaving the nearby shopping center will be able to exit to the north.
The nearly $8.4 million pedestrian bridge will connect the new Vue mixed-use development with the Busse Woods forest preserve. Construction is expected to be complete in the spring of 2026.
The Vue is the redevelopment of the Elk Grove Woods Plaza at Arlington Heights and Higgins roads. It’s planned to include two retail buildings totaling 45,000 square feet; a five-story, 270-unit apartment building with 8,000 square feet of ground-floor retail; a 530-space parking deck; and 16 townhouses.
