Halloween Hustle celebrates 20 years in downtown Palatine

Get ready to run walk — or fly — through the streets of historic downtown Palatine as the 20th annual Halloween Hustle 5K and Kids Dash returns on Saturday, Oct. 25, for a morning of fitness, costumes and community spirit to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Northwest Suburbs.

Starting and ending at 345 N. Eric Drive in Palatine, just west of the downtown area, the Halloween Hustle invites participants of all ages to don their favorite costumes and join the celebration.

“This event has become a beloved tradition that unites the community in the spirit of fun and giving back,” said Aaron Del Mar, founder of Adrenaline Special Events, the producer of Halloween Hustle. “It’s hard to believe we’re celebrating 20 years, and we’re making this milestone our most spooktacular yet!”

Event Schedule:

● 8:30 a.m. Kids Dash: Little monsters dash through a festive mini-course in full costume.

● 9 a.m. 5K Run/Walk: Runners, walkers, and costumed characters follow a scenic downtown Palatine route filled with “spooky” historic homes.

● 10 a.m. Awards Ceremony: Top male and female finishers, along with age group winners, will be recognized.

● After-Party, Tap House Grill (56 W. Wilson St., Palatine): Celebrate after the event with a complimentary half breakfast sandwich, drinks, music and a costume contest.

Every adult registration includes a long-sleeved Dri-Fit shirt, finisher medal, timing bib and a complimentary beverage at the after-party. Kids Dash participants receive a bib, mini medal, pumpkin and event T-shirt.

Those who can’t make it to the event can join the Virtual 5K from anywhere. Virtual participants will receive a shirt, medal and Halloween swag shipped straight to their door, and can even join the virtual costume contest for some extra spooky fun.

Proceeds from the Halloween Hustle benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Northwest Suburbs, one of Illinois’ leading youth enrichment organizations providing after-school programs, meals, mentoring and leadership opportunities for local children.
