Brotherhood of Harmony to offer free singing lessons
The Brotherhood of Harmony is offering a free five-week program of singing and voice lessons beginning Oct. 23. The program, designed to help singers of all levels improve their skills, will run through Nov. 20 at DeerGrove Covenant Church at 225 E. Helen Road, Palatine.
The weekly lessons will be held at 7 p.m. Thursdays and will cover topics including posture, breathing, tone, and articulation. The lessons will benefit all singers.
Participants will learn new versions of familiar Christmas songs and will have the opportunity to rehearse with the Brotherhood of Harmony Chorus and perform at a celebratory Christmas concert following the program's completion. The chorus will provide all the materials for the program at no cost, and there is no obligation to join the chorus afterward.
Anyone, young or old, that has always wanted to sing, or would like to hone their singing skills is invited. Whether you’ve been singing all your life or just starting, you’re guaranteed to learn something and have fun, according to chorus members. You’ll enjoy joining members of the chorus to rehearse your song for performance.
