Registration open for 19th Judicial Circuit’s Veterans History Project
Registration is open through Oct. 28 for the 19th Judicial Circuit’s annual Veterans History Project.
The project was created by the U.S. Congress in 2000 to collect, preserve and make accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans for future generations to hear directly from veterans and gain a deeper understanding of the realities of war.
This year, the project will take place at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan on Nov. 11.
Early registration is encouraged as spaces are limited. The event begins with breakfast and a brief program. After a group photo, registered veterans give their oral histories recorded by a volunteer court reporter.
The histories are transcribed and archived at the Library of Congress. Visit https://19thcircuitcourt.state.il.us/1923/Veterans-History-Project for forms and information.
