Officials identify man who drowned Monday in Fox Lake

A 51-year-old man who drowned Monday evening in Fox Lake near Antioch has been identified, officials said.

Larry Suchowski of Gurnee was one of two men who were thrown into the water while in a boat late Monday afternoon, according to Lake County sheriff’s office spokesman Chris Covelli.

The Antioch Fire Protection District and the sheriff’s office responded about 5:30 p.m. Monday to the area near Captain’s Quarters, 38283 N. Bolton Place, and discovered only one of the men had been rescued, according to a news release from the Lake County coroner’s office.

The search for Suchowski continued until 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, when his body was recovered. He died from drowning, according to the coroner’s office.
