Frannie the Chihuahua and Postman Dan mark 4th anniversary of meetings in Hoffman Estates

Tuesday’s celebration of the fourth anniversary of the near-daily meetings between Frannie the long-haired Chihuahua and postman Dan Larsen in Hoffman Estates included a more than $20,000 donation to the Schaumburg-based Almost Home Foundation pet rescue.

One thing that’s changed since the third anniversary is the now equally constant participation of Frannie’s “little sister,” Gracie Bean.

Both dogs are owned by Hoffman Estates resident Lisa Laskey, who’s created a viral video phenomenon with the mutual expression of love between her dogs and the 41-year veteran of the U.S. Post Office.

On Oct. 8, 2021, both Larsen and Laskey were surprised by the effusive greeting the mail carrier received from a then nearly 11-week-old puppy.

While always a friendly and playful dog, Frannie clearly doesn’t hold every new human she meets in the same high esteem.

Larsen has described himself as a bona fide pet enthusiast and believes the very young Frannie could just sense that.
