Aurora police arrest six as part of prostitution sting

Aurora police arrested six men last month as part of a prostitution sting.

Police officials said the sting took place Sept. 23 between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. downtown after receiving complaints about prostitution activity.

An undercover female officer posed as a prostitute.

Five of the men were from Aurora and one was from Dolton. They were all cited for solicitation of a sexual act. Five vehicles were towed and impounded as part of the operation, police said.

Police did not release their names, but noted they ranged in age from 43 to 72.
