There’s plenty going on besides football. Fremd’s soccer team picked up a key win over Conant Thursday night.

St. Charles North and St. Francis entered the week ranked second and third in the Daily Herald girls volleyball Top 20. They met on the court Wednesday.

Area golfers were busy this week with regional play. Nowhere was the play better than at Fox Run where three girls teams broke 300 to advance to sectionals Oct. 6.

Hersey’s boys golf team continued one of its best seasons in school history by taking the Prospect regional crown.

After taking third in the state in Class 2A last year, Burlington Central is making the transition to 3A this season, and the Rockets got off to a great start.
