Des Plaines cops to be honored for lifesaving efforts, valor

Nine Des Plaines police officers are set to receive awards Monday for lifesaving efforts during five separate emergencies.

One of the officers will also be honored for valor shown during one of those emergencies.

The emergencies date back to October 2024. The most recent one occurred this past July. Details weren’t immediately available.

The officers will be recognized near the start of the evening’s city council meeting. It’s scheduled for 7 p.m. at city hall, 1420 Miner St.

The meeting will be open to the public and livestreamed at desplainesil.gov.
