Wonderful exposure to a great president

We finally brought our grandchildren and their parents to Springfield.

I had long wanted to introduce them to my all-time favorite president, Abraham Lincoln. He’s been my lifelong hero ever since my first trip to Springfield as a child.

As we walked from the Visitor’s Center to Lincoln’s home, we noticed each of us had a separate Lincoln quote on our entrance ticket. Mine said, “Let us turn this government back into the channel in which the framers of the constitution originally placed it.”

What a wonderful president (and precedent) to expose one’s grandchildren to.
