A tiring assault

I get a kick out of witnessing authors of letters embarrass themselves such as the Naperville letter on Sept. 16 that declared, “It is from the left that all of this hate and violence has risen.” Both Democrats and Republicans have their echo chambers, especially since the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine in 1985, by Ronald Reagan.

However, maybe it is a massive case of amnesia or perhaps Alzheimer's that MAGA isn't mentioning the recent shooting deaths of Melissa and Mark Hortman, the attempted murder of John and Yvette Hoffman, arson at Josh Shapiro's home, the attempted kidnapping of Gretchen Whitmer, or the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection.

All of these violent acts had links to Republicans. Not to mention that the suspect who shot President Trump was a Republican, was raised in a conservative, Republican, gun-loving family, and Elon Musk has been promoting violence since Charlie Kirk was shot.

Many Democrats are getting tired of this assault, especially when they are also told by MAGA that their culture and lifestyle is inferior.
