Naperville Park District to celebrate newest sites
The Naperville Park District will officially unveil its newest parks — both in a new Pulte residential subdivision — with an opening celebration next week.
The Polo Club and Fairlane Farms parks bring the park district’s total inventory to 140.
While both sites will be celebrated, the event is set to take place at Polo Club Park at 5828 Hawkweed Drive, within the same subdivision as Fairlane Farms Park, starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.
That name is a nod to the area’s roots. Many players at the Naperville Polo Club learned to ride and play the sport at Fairlane Farms, which was on land that became part of the new subdivision, according to the park district.
The playground at Polo Club Park has a miniature market station and a sensory tunnel. Fairlane Farms also features two multi-purpose fields that will host park district athletic programs such as Naperville Youth Soccer.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, kids can check out the playground and enjoy light refreshments provided by the park district.
