Daily Herald high school athlete of the month nominations for September

Cook County

Nik Van De Mark, Hersey, boys soccer.

Van De Mark led reigning the Class 3A champion to a 10-4-0 overall record, 5-1-0 in the MSL East Division.

DuPage County

Michael Jorski, Hinsdale Central, boys golf.

Jorski shot a 65 to win the West Suburban Silver meet.

Kane County

Haley Burgdorf, St. Charles North, girls volleyball.

The North Stars are ranked No. 2 in the Daily Herald Top 20, and the Penn State recruit has been a leader for them.

Lake County

Reese Queensland, Antioch, flag football.

The sophomore cornerback/wide receiver won the Chicago Bears Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 1. Through Sept. 28, she has 15 interceptions, 19 touchdowns and is averaging 67 receiving yards a game. Antioch is 12-4, 5-1 in the NLCC.
