Long Grove’s Apple Fest draws a big crowd

There's nothing like a festival to draw a crowd to downtown Long Grove and Apple Fest lived up to its billing as people lined up to buy apples, enjoy prepared food, visit vendors' booths and listen to live music Saturday.

The three-day event features fresh apples, apple pies, candy-covered apples, apple doughnuts and cider. In addition to apple products, a variety of food items including hot and cold treats are available.

Music on the main stage between noon and 6 p.m. Sunday, the festival's final day, includes Acoustic Deficit Disorder, Chicken Dolphin Band and American English.
