Car found in pond near Naperville police, fire HQs
Naperville police and fire officials are investigating a vehicle found Thursday morning in a pond near their headquarters.
Firefighters located the vehicle during a training exercise in Lake Osborne. Police Cmdr. Ricky Krakow said it was on the south side of the pond, near the intersection of Oswego Road and Oakhurst Drive.
As of 2 p.m. Thursday, the vehicle was still in the pond, he said. Authorities have not determined the make or model, or if it has license plates.
The city owns Lake Osborne Park. There is a walking trail around it, and people fish in it.
