Geneva Lutheran to host pet blessing on Oct. 4 with Tommy the comfort dog

Geneva Lutheran Church invites the community to celebrate God’s good creation with a special pet blessing on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on the front lawn of the church, 301 S. Third St. It is open to animals of all kinds. Whether you have a cat, dog, snake, gerbil, bird, or any other beloved pet, all creatures are welcome to receive a blessing. For those with smaller or less social pets, bringing a picture for blessing is also encouraged.

This festive event will celebrate the important role pets play in our lives. In addition to the blessings, there will be contests, prizes, music, and plenty of fun for both pets and their people! Kids are especially welcome to join in the festivities. Plus, Geneva Police Department’s beloved Tommy the Comfort Dog will be in attendance, spreading joy and comfort to all.

Join in honoring our faithful companions and the joy they bring. For more information, contact Jane Perkolup at (815) 210-0086.
