No one hurt in Wheeling house fire
No one was hurt in a house fire Tuesday night in Wheeling, but the home was left uninhabitable, authorities said.
The blaze, which started in the kitchen, was reported at about 10 p.m. on the 400 block of West Green Drive. Wheeling firefighters arrived at the one-story house and saw heavy fire and smoke, according to a news release.
Four residents and two pets already had gotten out safely, according to the release.
Crews from several area departments helped Wheeling firefighters put out the blaze by 10:30 p.m.
Damage to the house and its contents was estimated to be at least $100,000.
The fire remained under investigation Wednesday.
