Two men facing gun, drug charges in Aurora
Two Aurora men are facing gun and drug charges after a monthslong Aurora police investigation.
Osbaldo Moreno-Izeta, 32, of the 600 block of West Galena Boulevard, is charged with armed violence, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine), felon in possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm without a valid firearm owner’s identification card, and possession of a controlled substance, according to a news release from police.
Police say that when they searched a house in the 600 block of West Galena on Sept. 17, they found 3.4 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, drug packaging, a Springfield Armory 9 mm handgun, a Smith & Wesson .40-caliber handgun, an extended ammunition magazine and ammunition.
Kevin A. Thomas-Cox, 30, of the 100 block of Warren Avenue, was arrested Sept. 10. Police say when investigators searched a house in the 100 block of Warren that day, they found two digital scales, 7.3 grams of cocaine, a stolen Arex Slovenia Delta 9 mm pistol with a green laser, and $5,660, according to the release.
Thomas-Cox is charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm without a valid firearm owner’s identification card.
Both men are free on pretrial release.
