Hanover Township receives 14th consecutive award for budget presentation

The Government Finance Officer Association has presented Hanover Township with its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 14th consecutive year for the township’s FY 2026 budget.

“Having a budget document that is easy for our residents to follow and read through has always been a basic tenet for the board of trustees,” Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire said in a statement. “I encourage residents to visit the township’s online transparency center to view all budgets, audits, treasurer’s reports, and other financial information.”

The GFOA assesses how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. Documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories and then 14 mandatory criteria within those categories.

The Hanover Township Transparency Center can be found at hanover-township.org.
