Attacking the media

Donald Trump, JD Vance, Stephen Miller, and Pam Bondi have stepped up their war on the First Amendment after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The Trump administration has already attacked the media for publishing negative stories about him. He has extorted universities over their curriculums, and he has targeted student protesters exercising their free speech rights. Now, Pam Bondi has declared that those who criticize Charlie Kirk are practicing hate speech and will be investigated. This, in spite of the fact that the Supreme Court has consistently ruled that hate speech is protected under the First Amendment.

What will happen when Trump starts to jail those who speak out against him? Will that be a bridge too far for his MAGA base? What if he publicly executes those he deems terrorists and traitors? People are already disappearing from our streets to be lost in our own American gulag. Unless We the People rise up to stop this tyranny, none of us will be able to speak truth to power. To quote Bob Marley, be prepared to “Stand up for your rights.“.
