Pottawatomie Garden Club plants flowers along St. Charles bridges

On Sept. 17, Pottawatomie Garden Club members gathered in downtown St. Charles to plant fall flowers along the Illinois and Main Street bridges. This is a project that the garden club does in the spring and the fall.

Besides awarding scholarships, one of the missions of the garden club is the beautification of St. Charles along with recognizing businesses who use landscaping to beautify their property.

Since 1928, club members honor past members with the Memorial Tree Program; and they present an annual Landscape Commendation Award to businesses in St. Charles Township. The club also awards annual scholarships to horticulture students and provides support to gardening and environmental projects in the community.
