Speeding could be factor in Palatine pickup truck crash, police say

A 21-year-old man sustained serious injuries after his pickup truck hit a streetlight in Palatine Saturday morning, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 8:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of East Dundee Road.
Witnesses reported a black Dodge Ram pickup was speeding in the eastbound lanes before the driver lost control, struck a light pole, and then a tree, Palatine police said.
The driver, who lives in Chicago, was transported to a local hospital.
East Dundee Road was closed for more than three hours as police processed evidence.
