No injuries in fire that damaged machinery at factory near Libertyville

No injuries were reported in a fire at a factory warehouse near the border between Libertyville and Lake Forest late Tuesday.

Libertyville Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to the commercial building on the 28000 block of North Ballard Drive just before 9:45 p.m.

The building’s sprinkler system kept the fire from spreading from machinery that had ignited, fire officials said.

The fire started in machinery on the facility’s production line and was largely contained to the equipment in the building. The building itself sustained no structural damage and workers were allowed back inside.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
