South Elgin residents are invited to kick off the fall season at the annual Pumpkin Patch Festival on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at SEBA Park, 151 S. Water St.

The festival is packed with family-friendly fun, including a pumpkin painting station (with a purchase), pyramid of hay, craft show, inflatable, face painting, and plenty more.

A highlight of the morning will be the Costume Pet Parade at 10 a.m., where local pets and their owners will strut their stuff in categories like Scariest, Cutest, Funniest, and Best Owner/Pet Costume.

Pre-registration is available online through Thursday, Oct. 2, at southelgin.com/registration (section #33611), with on-site registration available the morning of the event from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m.

New this year is a Pumpkin Decorating Contest for local businesses and service organizations, giving them a chance to show off their creativity and claim the title of first Pumpkin Decorating Champion.

Pumpkins, hay bales, corn stalks, and concessions will also be available for purchase.
