Chicago Dogs even playoff series vs. Kane County Cougars, will host deciding game tonight
The Chicago Dogs defeated the Kane County Cougars 5-3 on Friday night at Impact Field in Rosemont. The Dogs win sets up a deciding fifth and final game to send someone to the Miles Wolff Cup Finals. Game 5 will be played in Rosemont at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
This time it was the Cougars who opened the scoring against Zach Davidson. With two outs in the inning and a runner on second, Josh Allen stepped in and belted a ball that bounced off the bleachers in right center for a 2-run homer.
But the Dogs responded in the bottom of the fourth off Vin Timpanelli. After Timpanelli retired the first two hitters, T.J. Hopkins worked his second walk of the game. Then, on a 3-2 count, Chance Sisco turned on a ball and bounced it off the foul pole in right field for a 2-run homer, tying the game 2-2. That brought up Dusty Stroup, who shot a ball over the right center field wall for back-to-back home runs, and the Dogs first lead of the night at 3-2.
