Couple killed in Geneva crash identified

The names of a man and a woman killed last week in a crash in Geneva have been released by authorities.

The victims were Dennis and Ritsuko White, ages 85 and 88, of Geneva.

The crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. Friday as Dennis White was making a left turn from northbound Fisher Drive onto Bricher Road. Their car was hit by an eastbound vehicle.

According to their obituaries, the Whites had been married 65 years. They are survived by four children and seven grandchildren.

Ritsuko White was a member of the Chicago Okinawa Kenjinkai, which promoted goodwill and friendship among those interested in Okinawan culture.

Dennis White was a deacon at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in St. Charles.

The couple enjoyed gardening together at their plot at the Geneva Community Gardens.

No charges have been filed in connection with the crash, and it remains under investigation, according to Geneva police.
