Annual St. Charles Jazz Weekend showcases 48 live performances
The 14th annual St. Charles Jazz Weekend will showcase 48 live jazz performances at 22 venues from Thursday to Sunday, Sept. 11-14.
St. Charles Business Alliance Executive Director Jenna Sawicki, speaks on her excitement for this year’s event.
“Jazz Weekend is the perfect opportunity to get together with friends and family, experience exceptional music, and show support for the outstanding businesses in St. Charles,” Sawicki said. “From soloists to big bands, this event offers performances for everyone to enjoy.”
In addition to festival favorite jazz saxophonist Frank Catalano, the four-day festival will feature Haley Reinhart, Aimee Gwen Trio, Inversion Jazz Trio, Magen Kranz Quartet, Trevor Hill Trio, Jack Aiello and The Crooners Club, Jack Macklin Trio, Joel Ream Trio, Andy Schlinder & Samuel Wyatt, On the Air, Ethan Larson, Black and Blue Hearts, Andrew Egizio Trio, Tina Jenkins Crawley, Extraordinary Popular Delusions, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Fantasy Masters Smooth Jazz Band, Toby Morden Trio, Off the Ink, Beveled, New Vintage Strings, Shout Section Combo, the John Wesley Experience, Alejandro Urzagaste Trio, Jimmy Farace, Matt Ulery Quintet, Samuel Wyatt, Diego Rodriguez Big Band, Andy Schlinder & Kevin Brown, Michael Shebar Trio, Shout Section Big Band & Tatum Langley, Gregory Hyde, Ten Cat Swing, Elaine Dame Trio, Arman Sangalang Trio, Sincerely Sinatra Big Band with Nick Pontarelli, and the Mario Dueñas Electric Group.

In addition to local venues, guests are invited to enjoy live jazz on the 1st Street Plaza during the weekend.
On Saturday, Sept. 13, there will be a series of performances, beginning with the St. Charles North High School Jazz Band featuring special guest Kirby Fellis from noon to 12:45 p.m.
From 2 to 2:45 p.m. the St. Charles East High School Jazz Band will play alongside special guest Armen Sangalang, followed by an evening performance from the Shout Section Combo from 4 to 6 p.m.
On Sunday, Sept. 14, audiences can look forward to hearing the Diego Rodriguez Big Band playing on the 1st Street Plaza from noon to 2 p.m.
As part of the festival, Baker Memorial United Methodist Church will feature “Jazz in Worship” at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service with a quintet featuring Sam Wyatt, Mary LeCuyer, Steve Hunt, Mary Halm, and Andy Schlinder. Then at 3 p.m., enjoy a jazz concert featuring the marriage of classical and jazz music by the French composer Claude Bolling. This performance features the Richard Sladek Trio with pianist Richard Sladek, bassist Cory Biggerstaff, Darren Scorza on drums, and special guest violinist James Martin performing Claude Bolling’s Suite for Violin and Jazz Piano Trio. It will be a freewill offering.
Individuals who attend three or more performances at the 2025 St. Charles Jazz Weekend can have the chance to win a gift card to a St. Charles theater and restaurant valued at $200.
To enter, download the Travel St. Charles app and create an account. Once the account is created, the user will be able to “check-in” to any Jazz Weekend performance by viewing the Jazz Weekend Challenge under the “Challenges Tab.” It is important to note that this Challenge will only be visible during the days of the event. Attendees that “check-in” to three or more performances will be entered to win.
