Gurnee ‘Training in the Park’ events return this week

Gurnee’s Training in the Park events will return beginning Tuesday, bringing two weeks community engagement and hands-on training at parks across the community.

The police, fire and public works departments will be visiting the parks to showcase their skills, conduct drills and connect with residents.

All events begin at 6 p.m. at the following locations and dates: Vineyard Park, Sept. 9; Betty Russell Park, Sept. 10; Christine Thompson Park, Sept. 11; Ravinia Park, Sept. 23; Southridge Park, Sept. 24; and Hunt Club Park, Sept. 25.
