Maine South, Naperville North bounce back after tough Week 1

Week 2 of the prep football season offered a number of teams a chance to get a bad taste out of their mouth after tough opening night losses.

Naperville North did just late, coming through on the road in overtime to beat Libertyville 21-14.

A week after getting shutout by Lincoln-Way East, Maine South went to work through the air against Warren, pulling away in the second half to get a 42-14 win in Gurnee.

Palatine rallies, Fremd rolls

Trailing Prospect by 14 in the fourth quarter, Palatine got two touchdowns from running back Kole Fager to force overtime. Fager wasn’t done though, scoring the game winner in overtime as the Pirates beat Prospect 37-34.

Fremd jumped on Buffalo Grove early and never looked back, rolling to a 55-6 win.

Stevenson holds on

Stevenson picked up its first win of the season, holding off Wheaton North 10-7.

Big night for Barrington’s Osterhues

Barrington running back Lamar Osterhues ran for 205 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Broncos downed Hersey 35-21 win.
