St. Ed’s in Elgin to hold remembrance ceremony for lives lost in Sept. 11 attacks

St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin will hold a ceremony between football games on Friday, Sept. 12, to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and recognize the service and sacrifice of first responders, veterans and active-duty military members.

The remembrance ceremony will take place at about 6:30 p.m. at Greg True Field, following the girls flag football game, which starts at 5:30 p.m. The varsity football game begins at 7:30 p.m.

The program will feature music, prayer, formal tributes and recognition of first responders, veterans and military members.
